Industry Wages What are Companies Paying in Salaries
Industry Wages What are Companies Paying in Salaries As a recruiter or hiring manager, it is important to know how much the role you are advertising pays on average, this not only helps keep you competitive in a busy market but allows you to fill roles quicker and avoid lengthy negotiating periods. To help employers and recruiters stay ahead of their competition, RS Components have used Office for National Statistics (ONS) data to analyze the salaries of 270 roles across the UK to reveal the highest and lowest paying jobs across the UK. Average earnings The initial analysis of the ONS data found the average worker in the UK will earn £569 per week or, in other words, £29,558 per year. However, it was also found that this could vary greatly based on the type of role, age, and even gender. Differences in occupations In the UK, CEOs are, somewhat, unsurprisingly the highest-paid occupation; with CEOs earning an average of £97,083 per annum £67,525 more than the national average and over £21,000 per year more than the second-highest profession, a medical practitioner. The analysis of UK wages found medical practitioners earn around £75,855 per year, closely followed by marketing sales directors who receive the third-highest salary, at around £75,126 per year. At the other end of the scale, bar staff receives the lowest pay in the UK, earning an average of just £15,072 per year, 6.4 times less than CEOs. Meanwhile, the second lowest-earning workers are waiters and waitresses who earn £14,104 less than the national average, being paid a gross yearly salary of £15,454 ( £297 per week). In their analysis, RS Components found 57% of the 270 occupations earned less than the national average. However, the analysis also found 94% of âprofessionalâ roles such as legal professionals, journalists newspaper editors, architects and civil engineers earn more than the average salary. Differences in age According to the RS Components analysis of the Annual Survey of Hours and Earnings (ASHE), workers aged between 22 and 29 will earn £4,747 less than the UKâs national average per year, being paid an average of £24,840 per year. While the ASHE figure does sound like a healthy salary for someone in the graduate age range, Graduate Jobs estimates this could, in fact, be even less; with graduates earning somewhere between £19,000 and £22,000 per year. In comparison, the highest-earning age bracket is 40 to 49 years, where the average salary across the UK is £33,246, over £3,600 more than the nations average salary. Meanwhile, the second-highest age bracket is 30 to 39 years, with an average salary £1,744 higher than the national average, at £31,332 per year. Differences in gender While pay discrimination has long been outlawed, RS Components, in their analysis of the wages in the UK, noticed that, on average, men earnt £4,144 more than women per year. Highlighting the discrepancy that still plagues the workplace. The age group with the highest discrepancy of pay between the genders were those between 50 and 59, where men are paid £7,950 more per year than women. This is closely followed by 40 to 49-year-olds, where women in this age group earn £7,108 less than men of the same age per year. The closest age groups to equal pay are those under 30. Although this is something of a positive, there is still a difference of £1,840 per year between the salaries of men and women at the 22 to 29 age bracket. Even women under 21 earn £1,120 less than male counterparts. Overall, the analysis by RS Components indicates how different occupations are paid. While it isnât too surprising to see CEOs come out on top, it is something of a surprise to see such a gap between them and the next highest salary. The additional analysis by RS Components reiterates the need for equal pay, with discrepancies between the genders reach as young as 16; when young adults are just entering the workforce often in part-time roles. How to Nudge Your Partner Down the Engagement Path
How to Nudge Your Partner Down the Engagement Path OK, men arenât all bad. Thereâs enough to love there, even if sometimes they make you want to tear your hair out. One point in which theyâre not particularly âon itâ is when it comes to marriage. Itâs not that theyâre against the idea, itâs just that theyâre not always as proactive as youâd like. They take way too long to get down on one knee, while all the while youâre just sitting there, waiting to be asked. While you canât rush him along, you can nudge him in the right direction! We show you how to do it below. Take the advice, and you might just be engaged sooner than you think! Have a Marriage-Worthy Relationship There are no guarantees in life. Just because youâre both fully committed to each other now, thereâs nothing to say that it wonât all come undone tomorrow, or some other point further on down the line. Relationships take work, and if youâre letting yours run on autopilot because you assume a proposal is inevitable, then you might be waiting a long time. If you want to get married, then have a marriage worthy relationship. If you make it impossible for him to think of marrying anyone other than you, heâll get the message sooner rather than later. Talk In Terms of âWeâ When youâre married, youâre a bona fide team. But you donât have to wait until youâre hitched to start thinking in terms of âweâ; that can happen as soon as you feel it. A marriage is a union of two people, but the actual union happens well before the proposal; thatâs just a natural evolution of the love. If youâre loyal to him and heâs loyal to you, then the engagement will naturally follow. The team aspect doesnât just apply to here and now, either; it can apply to when youâre talking about the future, too. Big up the Love at Other Weddings If youâre getting to that age when everyone around you is getting married, then youâll have the perfect opportunity to let your partner know that youâre ready. In any given year youâll likely go to seven or so weddings. When youâre there, bask in the love; the affection that flows through a wedding is contagious. You donât have to sing Elton Johnâs classic track âCan You Feel the Love Tonight?â: heâll just get it. (But letâs just hope he doesnât propose at someone elses wedding!) Subtle Hints Itâs likely that heâs already thought about marriage, and that youâre already lightly discussed the possibility before. But if you think heâs in any doubt about your readiness, you can drop subtle hints into conversations about your commitment to him and the type of engagement youâd like. You can gently mention that you prefer more classic styles of rings, or the location that you think is the most romantic in your neighborhood. As youâre mentioning all these things, an image will slowly form in his mind about what youâre looking for: and heâll know, in no uncertain terms, that marriage is not a terrifying proposition for you. Know His Friends and Family When you get married, youâre not just bringing your beloved into your world. Youâre also bringing with them their closest friends and family. They wonât just be connections you know through your partner; theyâll be your nearest and dearest, too. But you canât go from barely knowing them to knowing them inside out. As such, if you want your partner to get down on one knee, youâll want to make an effort with his friends and family. If you fit in seamlessly into his world as in, you enjoy spending time with the people who are the most important in his world then heâll know your marriage material. No Pressure You might be eager to get married. But thereâs more to an engagement that just the shared love; it can be expensive, or the timing might not be right and so on. Just because he hasnât asked you to be his wife just yet, that doesnât mean that he wonât one day, or that he doesnât already see you as the love of his life. So be happy. If youâre thinking about marriage, then youâve already won the lottery of love: the ceremony and party is just the cherry on top of the delicious cake that is your love. Sometimes, your eagerness to get married might just detract from the happiness you should be feeling. Focus on the good times, and the rest will inevitably follow.

Tips to Format Your Writing Job Experience Resumes
Tips to Format Your Writing Job Experience ResumesA common question that is often asked about writing a resume is how to add writing job experience. This can be a very difficult task for many people who are unfamiliar with how this specific section of the application should be formatted. Writing a resume can be one of the most important parts of the entire application process and this is the main reason why it is very important to have all of the information you need up front. Here are some tips to help you properly format your writing job experience resume.First, when preparing a resume, always start by listing all of your skills. This list will be the basis for what you want to highlight in your resume. For example, if you are a stay-at-home parent and you worked as a bookkeeper before, then you would want to include that in your work experience section. If you have worked as a marketing coordinator, you will want to highlight that as well. Now, when it comes to your work experience , you will want to provide both past and current employment for each position you applied for. For example, if you worked as a case manager for three years, then you will want to write 'CLN' (Case Management) in the box next to your work experience. Then, you will want to provide your beginning and ending dates for each position and include your position title.Writing a writing resume can sometimes be a challenging task because there are so many different formats available. However, you should use a format that will allow you to easily locate information quickly. Remember, employers are more likely to read a resume with information highlighted in bold. So, if you want to make sure that your writing experience is highlighted, make sure that you use a 'BOLD' format on your resume. The other key to writing a resume is to make sure that your contact information is clearly visible. After all, you want to be able to reach the potential employer quickly. A good way to do this is to outline your contact information in large font at the top of your resume.Once you have listed your contact information, you will want to decide how you want to format the rest of your resume. Some people use a numbered format while others prefer to use a column format. However, it is important to remember that column format will only be effective if the number format is consistent. When you are doing the formatting for your writing resume, you should make sure that you don't use too many different fonts. You don't want to make your resume look cluttered. Use a solid color or at least the bold font for your writing resume. As you can see, writing a writing resume can be a daunting task. Therefore, it is essential that you learn how to properly format your resume so that it looks professional. Once you learn how to properly format your resume, then you will be well on your way to building your career.

Jab, Jab, Jab, Right Hook Launches
Jab, Jab, Jab, Right Hook Launches Gary Vaynerchuks newest book Jab, Jab, Jab, Right Hook: How to Tell Your Story in a Noisy Social World launches! So whats the big deal? Gary Practices What He Preaches Throughout JJJRH, Gary talks about how to connect with your audience through the right use of social media means. What this really comes down to for business owners, marketing teams, solo-practitioners, or community managers, it the need and ability to listen to what your potential customer is saying. Engagement with your peeps is what converts them into loyal customers! Gary does this all the time- this is why hes a master on social and why I support him! Dating back to 2010 And he still has the knack/gift (OK, a little bragging here, but honestly, I am so flattered that someone so big noticed little ol me!) Give, Give, Give, Ask You have to practice some boxing strategy in order to win over the loyalty or support of your fans, friends and supporters and in order to do that you have to give, give, give before you ask for anything. Not a difficult lesson but one too many users overlook. Just because someone follows your account doesnt mean they are a fan and will automatically purchase everything your throw their way! Give them stuff, value, help, edutainment, a laughstir emotion! You can preview a chapter -click on preview. (give) Here is a link to a slideshare presentation about the number one mistake people make on Twitter. (give) Here are 5 case studies from the book. (give) Now go buy the book: Jab, Jab, Jab, Right Hook: How to Tell Your Story in a Noisy Social World (affiliate link) Speak The Native Language Gary includes 80 case studies in JJJRH to help you see what works and what doesnt or didnt. A re-occurring theme and reason Gary fails a social update is that it didnt speak the native language of the platform it was posted on. Sorry to tell you but, in order to get the kind of positive response you want from your followers or potential customers, you have to create content that is suited for the platform. DO NOT CROSS POST the same update across all your social networks. Yes, it saves time, but no, it probably wont crush it! (Nod to Garys first book.) Beginner, Intermediate or Advanced No matter what your experience level with social media, there are take-aways for every level! Job Seekers Take Note And what about job seekers? Will you benefit? ABSOLUTELY! Marketing is marketing! Listening is listening. Engaging is engaging! All the strategies in this book can be applied to how you market yourself to potential employers as well! Here is one of my favorite presentations by Gary and this is all about marketing yourself! Color Makes This Book Sticky One last reason to invest in this book is the use of color photos on heavy duty glossy paper! It is truly too pretty to stick in a book shelf or to order as an eBook! It is worthy of displaying on your coffee table or desk. Thanks Gary and Nate I want to thank Gary and Nate for sending me an advanced copy! I was a giddy kid opening it up when it arrived (geek that I am)! I think you will be too!

The New Social Business Card Poken Review - CareerEnlightenment.com
Using Poken to Stand Out from the CrowdDo you Poken?Poken? Whats that?A great way to separate yourself and show that you are on the cutting edge is to have access to cutting-edge technology. Its also a great ice breaker! Perhaps you even give a corporate recruiter an extra Poken theyll remember you, and get some use out of it.I brought 12 Pokens to a professional conference last month and gave them out. I had a lot of fun with this. By the end of the conference, I was fist-bumping new Poken contacts and starting some interesting discussions about social media innovation. The challenge is that for it to be totally useful, every single person needs to have one. So dont write off biz cards just yet. But while this is still new, you can take advantage of its quirkiness.Where Can You Get a Poken? In the U.S. you can get your Poken from Poken Zoo. They are about $20, and if you buy a bunch, theyre cheaper. You can learn more about Poken here:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pokenhttp://blog.pron etworkingonline.com/tag/poken/http://poken.com/
